Dangerous Flora
After trying Atmosfar Demo a bit, and even playing other survival games before or watching the new Predator Badlands movie, i noticed something so simple that made the worlds more alive.
This was not the case for animals (just saw 1 small animal and I know it might take a while to have them in SE2), but actually the dangerous flora that could impact characters health.
Not sure if its planned or not, since we see Keen implementing a lot of flora but, so far, just for environment creation. I cannot think of one single Survival game that doesn't have this feature to some extent. Heck even old survival games..
Maybe making 1–2 dangerous plants per planet would not be such a big deal.
When character gets near the plant it could take some damage: Like if it touched the plant, others could explode, on toxic fume, etc
There could also be helpful plants that could give exogen on dangerous planet, other could be can used for energy, etc. It could be expanded more on each planet, with unique eco system and sizes.
Even in our world, the most dangerous plants affect us because we touch them, or we breathe the pollen, causing a reaction in our body/health.
There is currently no danger in current planets of the game, besides falling down from a high place without jetpack fuel or crashing a ship. A lot of survival games like No Man´s Sky or even older survival games have this system. New games like Atmosfar has already this system implemented.
It makes the planets feel more alive.
