Save when exiting does not work, loads previous save only

I started a new world and noticed that whenever I exit the game and click YES to save the game, that the game does not save. When I continue the world, it loads the previously in-game saved position. This happens every time.
How to reproduce.
1) World is Ventura Station
2) Play and then save manually
3) Play for a few mor minutes and then hit the Esc key, Click Exit to Menu, Click YES when asked to save the current world before existing. Exit SE2 completely. Go back in and click Continue and it will load in the previous save, not the exit-game save.
I have the same bug Access denied
Just providing more information. This issue lasted for two entire days and then resolved itself. I believe the computer was not restarted during those two days, but SE2 was many times. This has happened a couple of times in the past, but not in the .57 release until this time.
