Powering on Ships from Outside
Need More Information
Not sure if this is a bug or intentional or just not available yet. Is there a way you can make so that any access screen that is on a block, i.e. Battery, etc., can act as a terminal to power on a ship? I'm currently locked out of my ship and can't turn power on so that I can open the door.
I have the same bug
I'm at Oblivia station which is a safe zone so I cannot grind the door down enough to let me into the ship and get in the control seat to turn the ship on.

Hello Steve Kroner,
There is currently no way to Toggle Power outside of a Cockpit or Control Seat and I am not aware of any changes to this system in the near future.
There are workarounds to get you back in the ship however:
1. Debug Menu - Note that this will flag your Save as being edited with Debug
2. Use another ship to move your ship outside the Safe Zone
Let me know if this helps.
Kind Regards,
Bartosz

Bartosz,
Thank you for the assist. That got it done.
Would suggest you all might consider adding the “Y” on/off at the bottom to any terminal (battery, cargo container, etc.) screen that’s connected to a grid. Not sure of the programming line implications but would think it wouldn’t take millions of lines of code to add. Just a suggestion especially once you all go multi-player as there could be some frustration by other players.

Another thing you all might consider is to add an on/off switch for grids to the Datapads. As long as the grids have an antenna they could connect to the datapad. Would give a reason for datapad use other then just mission tracking. Just a thought.

Moving the ship with another ship, or even just pushing it with your character if it's small enough would have been the better option. Once you go into debug mode, it flags your save and they no longer pay attention to any bug reports from that save.

When you use Y to power off the ship, then exit the ship, and the ship locks you out of the cockpit (you locked your keys inside again?). The fix is to exit the game and reload. Everything works normally again and you can enter the cockpit. This bug has been around since the initial release. When you re-enter the game grinding and everything else will work normally again too. It appears something with what the character interacts with gets bugged and the character can no longer interact normally.
