Conveyor Frame block
I find it cool that Conveyors seem to have synergy with Truss Blocks and pass through the opening inside the truss. However, they don't completely fit -- Conveyors have a cross-section of 1.5×1.5m, whereas Truss Blocks have an opening of 2×2m (to allow a person to go through without crouching). Also, only straight pieces fit inside. To fill this gap, I think it would be nice to have an additional structural Conveyor Frame block: a 2.5m cube with a 1.5×1.5m opening on each side, which allows every conveyor piece except Junction to fit inside and snugly holds it in place. I've tested the concept with 0.5m armor blocks and it seems to work well.
This block would have following benefits:
- It would allow letting conveyors through walls without the overhead of a Conveyor Junction or structural vulnerability of conveyors that don't connect to walls around them.
- It could be used to strengthen conveyors like the Reinforced Conveyor blocks from SE1 without the necessity for Keen to create an equivalent block for every conveyor piece.
Additionally, there could be a Conveyor Frame Filling block that would plug the hole in one side of the Conveyor Frame and make it airtight. The Filling could have variants (wire mesh, panel, hardened panel etc.) to allow greater modularity.
