Ships break too easily on crash

I have tested crashing ships into terrain for fun at varying speeds using the F-302 fighter craft and a Destiny shuttle from Stargate and at first I figured that it was reasonable that it turns into dust at 300m/s, but over time I have noticed that pretty much everything breaks completely at almost any speed. Even crashing them at 50m/s on Kemik ground vaporized them Th F-302 fighter has a wing span of 19m and the shuttle is 16m long. I really think that the mechanic of soft terrain and hard terrain is a good idea, but ships should at least leave something behind when they crash
