Concrete Blocks - Possible Stone fix, Seperate tool to extract stone as ore?

As the title states, I would love to see SE2 add concrete blocks as a separate type of block to Light Armour, Heavy Armour, and Blast Armour (if they add Blast Armor).

Pros:

+ I believe that the pros of concrete block would be that they would be relatively cheap and strong/effective, somewhat similar to heavy armour blocks kinda a cheaper alternative to heavy blocks with few twists

+ They would be really good for base building, as bases (usually) need a large surface, and to protect them from enemies, they have to be made from heavy armor. As bases have a big disadvantage of being fixed to a location, they can be easy targets with kinetic penetrators, bombs, orbital bombardment, hydroman and tunnelling from beneath.

+ Hard for enemies to grind them, as it's not steel and iron, it's stone and sand and water reinforced with steel bars, which grinder would suck to destroy.

+ Really good at holding water

+ Road and infrastructure building

+ Really nice looking dams with VS3 adding water

+ Highest traction coefficient

Cons:

- Blocks would be really heavy, making them really impractical for ships to use instead of heavy armour.

- I would honestly go as far as to have a gamerule to disable concrete blocks from being able to be placed on a moving grid, only on static. To prevent the block from being abused as a ship's armor that just has more thrusters to compensate for weight (maybe a toggleable option in world creation)

- New production block (maybe a new tool discussed later in this post)

Gameplay aspect:

  • Concrete blocks would add quite a nice setting for the infrastructure building in SE2, not just for military applications, which this game is all about, a sandbox in which you create your own world.
  • I made a post about Keen rehauling wheels for rovers and such (link: https://support.keenswh.com/spaceengineers2/pc/topic/46105-rovers-wheels-suspension-needs-to-be-re-thought-in-se2 )
Where I stated that I would love to have wheels that are meant for Asphalt or Concrete, kind of like city tyres, you know, everyday tyres that we use irl (perhaps even raicng tyres? pleaseee Keen), concrete blocks would allow us to build roads, bridges, viaducts, railway foundations, base foundations... stuff like that, and they would look a lot better than armor blocks. They would have the highest traction coefficient among other blocks.
  • To maybe stretch it a bit, I would love to have asphalt added to the game, but honestly, just concrete existing is enough to give the community a stable foundation, and then we can mod some minor stuff like asphalt into the game.

Production:

  • How would we produce it?
  • I would not use the current production for concrete, honestly, I would like to have a new production block just for like cement and water mixing (it would look similar to the current smelter block, but with a concrete mixing barrel spinning, img down below).
This block would take water from the conveyor system (true a pump or from a water container/tank ), sand, and cement. Also being used for making cement and refining stone into sand...
  • Which brings me to a new point: why wouldn't we use stone for concrete? It makes sense.
  • But I honestly would not like to see stone being a mineable ore with a normal drill, perhaps like a special tool or block, maybe just a handheld drill, but that is made to mine only stone, so we don't have the same problem as SE1 had. throwing stone ore out of our inventory every 3sesconds when we want other ore...
  • What resources would a concrete block need? I don't know, probably like a cement mix bag or a concrete mixture bag. Maybe a little bit of iron/steel plates as steel reinforcements...

I hope they redo the wheels and add concrete blocks to this game, even if not as I said.

You are welcome to criticise, comment, or recommend what they could change. But let's at least get their attention that we want change :)

KEEN Software house, I want to say I love your game and really support what you are making, a masterpiece!

Great job so far, stay safe!

Greetings from Slovenia

PS. Attaching a little concept art of the block (Yes, it's missing a conveyor port. Chat GPT doesn't know how to add it sadly xD)
