Backpack building is overpowered

There's no incentive to use the machines like the refinery because building from raw ore is soo efficient and quick.

Its not that I disagree with the idea of backpack refiner/assembler. It frees you of needing a fully equipped ship. SE1 needed a landing craft with a survival kit and reliable power to refine and assemble components and this was a weak point in the types of play styles you could implement. no way to have a roguelike start where you lose everything when you die. In SE2 you can just jettison out of an escape pod, land on a planet and your ready get started from scratch.

I've done a playthrough, where I have to start from scratch after unlocking all of the basic machinery. After getting my starter base setup with the refinery I discovered it is no faster at building large blocks than the backpack. The opposite is true because I first had to plan what I need, process it and collect the parts out of the machine. After all that; welding them took just as long as welding with the backpack builder.

My solution would be, that the next evolution of survival should balance the speed it takes to weld with ores vs components so it takes more ore, time and suit energy to weld with the backpack builder. For small blocks this wont be a big deal, but it would make building a large ship or base much more difficult and prioritize using at least basic machines.

I do get that at this stage of development they want players to get their hands dirty with the new system to test the backpack building as much as possible, but this imbalance will ruin the game long term if you only need machines for assembling exotic parts on endgame blocks which is the situation we are in right now.
