Game Now crashes at launch and says min specs not met.

Reported

I have about 10 hr in SE2, and I was able to play the VS2 for a few days, and now all of a sudden it's saying my pc doesn't meet the min specs. I have a pretty decent computer: I have a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080, an Intel i9-9900k, and 32 GB of RAM. I have already tried almost every option to fix it by updating drivers, verifying files, and even a full clean install with no fix. Pls help me fix this. This is the second time I posted this because it's been a full 2 days with no visit, help, or fix.

Hello Ben Krinke,

If I understand correctly, you have tried launching the Game without CPU overclocking, right?

Are any logs created in this folder:

C:\Users\(your_username)\AppData\Roaming\SpaceEngineers2\Temp\Logs

If yes, please attach both log and Render12 files91b6c2036e7fd3eee2e8d06a0a8f2220

I attempted to launch today and of the 4 times i launched, one time it popped up a message that said my system does not meet minimum requirements then the splash screen went unresponsive. this is the first time I have seen this message.

from my understanding people are recieving this message even though they are running current generation hardware that meets the minimum specs. My rig is outdated however I believe im well within minimum specs. I have played early acess up to the planets update with no problem what so ever, save for an occasional frame hanging. I was able to get 50-60 fps which would drop while crashing the redship im guessing due to the physics simulation taxing my gpu.

just a heads up I have played Space engineers since the early access days and bought SE2 day one of early access so I'm invested in SE2 long term. I absolutely love the vision and plan to play online when full multiplayer is released. I understand this is an early build and optimization is not ideal at this stage. I plan to upgrade my processor and mother board at some point however till then i would like play with my current hardware.

Hello Vincent,

It seems from the logs that the Game is detecting your OS as Windows 8 instead of Windows 11 which causes the crash. Are you running the Game in compatibility mode? Additionally, I see that you use -dx12 launch command, have you tried launching the Game without it?

Hello Wyatt M.,

On which OS you are playing? According to the logs provided, you have Windows 8 which is not supported.

I run windows 11, and have since before I even purchased the game, I check if it was in window compatiblity mode and its not but it is set to run as admin.

Hello Wyatt M.,

Could you please provide a screenshot showing the properties/compatibility? Additionally, could you check if Steam is not running in compatibility mode?

I attached a few in case you need more than one for whatever reason. They should all be the same error, though

I would ask you to check and send us the contents of this registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion

You can find by opening the Registry Editor.

Everything was perfectly working before the update on the 2nd of december. Not many things has changed with the last update, it shouldn't be too difficult to find the problem. Days passed and still no fix.

It's pretty ridiculous having such an error when using an RTX 3080Ti with an i9 cpu.

Also you asked to see the content of our registry but you didn't mention how you want to see it, with a screenshot or in a different way? There are many things in that registry location.
