Having done the two contracts on the far side of the planet surface I really missed having some kind of minimap showing my position on the planet. If you stop to look at stuff you can easily get disoriented working off one GPS marker and it's not intuitive for new players to navigate by keeping the marker below them.
A small minimap would work but even better would be a zoom on the map screen where you can spin the planet around and view surface/low orbit markers plus you and your recent path.
