Game fails to start - won't find dotnet runtime (.NET 9.0.0)

I opened a help ticket but there was no response so far.
In short, SE2 won't start, complaining it requires .NET 9.0.0, even though I have a the dotnet runtime installed.
Does anybody else have this issue?
Windows 11 Home x64
AMD Ryzen 5 3600
32Gb RAM
Geforce RTX 2060 SUPER
