Materials consumed when block placement fails due to obstruction

When attempting to place a block that is obstructed and therefore cannot be built, the game still removes the required components from the player’s inventory. The block is never actually constructed (only a blueprint/ghost appears or placement fails), and if you delete that blueprint/ghost block, the components are not returned. This results in permanent loss of materials.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Start a game and make sure you have enough components in your inventory to build a specific block (e.g., armor block or any other block that can be obstructed).
  2. Aim at a location where the block cannot be built because of obstruction (e.g., another block is in the way or there isn’t enough space).
  3. Attempt to weld the block so that the game shows the “cannot build” / obstruction state, but still allows you to weld a blueprint/ghost.
  4. Observe that:
  5. Your components are removed from your inventory as if the block was successfully built.

Here is a video to show what is happening.
