Inventory Full

Solved

I'm sure you've heard this, but every time I double click anything into my inventory whether it's full or not, it says 'inventory full' Poor gal needs a good Upper too. She sounds so sad. Poor girl

Note to the devs, it appears that at least in my case it only happens when I select the option to move a large number of items, even when there aren't that many. i.e. say I have 20 steel plate, I hold down shift + crtl to move 1000. The 'inventory full' message seems to trigger because there isn't room for 1000 steel plate in the target inventory, even if there's actually only 20. The item moves over fine, obviously.

This happens whenever I bring across a large volume of items to my inventory that is too big to fit such as bringing over iron ore or steel plates and a subset of them go into my inventory.

I would rather have this message go off only when my inventory is already at capacity and I try to bring over more. Filling the inventory initially shouldn't trigger this message.

Also you could randomize the message after a few times it is triggered, just to give people some variance (and amusement) with the messages. For example:

  • Inventory full (3-5 times)

Then at 6+, randomize messages with the original inventory full.

  • Your inventory is already full (annoyed)
  • Why are you being so greedy? (whining)
  • I think you have enough (stern)
  • You cannot possibly carry more
  • You need strength training to increase what you can lift
  • And lift... and lift.. and lift... yes, that's right, keep lifting to build your strength
  • I didn't know you could lift so much
  • I am reporting you to your chiropractor
  • You need a vacation

and so forth.

Hello Engineers,

This issue was reported and fixed on one of the previous updates. I have added this thread to our internal ticket (SE2-29110).

As the issue is fixed, I will close this thread.

Kind Regards,

I'm still getting this error as of June 21, 2026.

My empty mining ship would not get the "Inventory Full" indicator all the time whenever I was mining, though it would get it frequently. The storage for the ship was one of the largest storage containers and the cockpit, along with nine small drills. One of the drills was attached directly to the cockpit in front.

The error appeared to relate to the cockpit getting full. I could continue to mine and fill up my ship, but I'd keep getting that indicator and see a lot of ore get kicked out into space.

Verified this is still happening on 2.3 update.

Specifically as described above in an earlier post of mine, if you are using shift, ctrl or shift+ctrl to move more than one at a time in blocks of 10, 100 or 1000. If there is less than the amount you click to move, you get the inventory full message.

Meaning, if you hold shift+ctrl to move 1000, but there are only 975 in the inventory, despite both inventories being empty you will get the inventory full message. The code logic seems to be something like 'user wants to move 1000 of item but I can't move 1000 (there are only 975), play inventory full message'
