Add simulation of structural integrity stress for more realistic grid destruction
I think it would be cool if, instead of grid destruction just being whatever blocks are colliding with other blocks or voxels take damage until destroyed, there was a system in the game that would make a kind of “structural strength map” of grids to use in the event of a collision that would cause structural weakpoints to give way, causing a ship to be ripped into pieces as it crashes, or a control tower to have its top room knocked off as a crashing ship slams into it during a battle, or even a river outpost downstream from a dam being ripped up from its foundations after the dam bursts and releases a flood of rushing water.
I think it would be super cool and realistic since Metal doesn’t just break, it has some give to it. If there’s a performance-friendly way to accomplish this, it would make destruction that much more cinematic and exciting in my opinion!
