Weird Bug

I've been playing about 5 hours or so, and I'm trying to find some lead in the first area before fast traveling to the next one. I've been out in space for a while checking asteroids and now wanted to go back to the surface to look there. I've been unable to get back to the planet surface. Each time the game just stops responding to inputs, quits moving my ship, but keeps rendering. The planet is there, the CPU and GPU look normal, even clouds are moving around, but the whole thing is just locked up. There is no input response, and I have to go to Task Manager to kill it. Don't know if I'll ever get back to the planet on this save.
