Survival mission - low graphics and invisible sections of terrain

I was playing through the survival mission this morning and came across areas where sections of the terrain were invisible, and trees and rocks were left floating in mid-air. The terrain was still there as a wall though, as my ship would not fly through it. See attached screenshot.
My graphics was also set to low by default, and came up with a warning message when I changed it to medium. I'm currently running on a gaming laptop which includes a Geforce 1650 Ti 4GB graphics card. I don't know if this contributes to the invisible terrain issue.
