Armor Blocks not showing off an existing grid

When I try to place a block in an empty space no block is shown. If I set it on an existing grid, it appears but can't start a new grid not connected to another.
I have the same bug Access denied

In Space Engineers 2 has slightly changed mechanics of building new grids to what is present in Space Engineers. In order to start a new Grid, you now need to press J key while having a block selected - this enables you to place blocks in free space.
Have you tried pressing J key when creating a new grid?
