Something that always Upset me about SE is the fact that when you place a blocks the assumption is there is power- and if you place conveyors you have it all- gas, fuel, ore and components- so usually you end up with some seriously empty builds. Another complaint is the interface systems wow what a mess. I purpose a fix that works in real life- Network your systems- for example use HMI (human machine interface) consoles to control specific sections of your build- if you want to make a boom? no problem pick out the specific blocks and target the specific key on keyboard to do the desired action- in turn the hmi will be the interface as to use those specific commands. Of course the network hub has access to all connected hmi's but it is primarily used for organization and overview. Now you have actual reason to walk throughout your ship or base. And look at conveyors... are they magic? a tube that makes items fly through it? Ok how about connections for gas, electrical input, network? Its really not complicated as we have been doing this in real life for years in industrial/commercial manufacturing for years. The options become endless, under performing thrusters? add booster pumps to give extra fuel for temporary performance increase, got ion thrusts needing a bit more oomph? tie in some capacitors to give a short lived extra thrust that takes the power system a while to recharge. They are just ideas. but then if you take into account real life examples you will suddenly see your ship or base have need for Jeffrey tubes to utilitarian sections that organize the flow of systems. Separation of gas lines, oxygen lines, conveyors of ore, conveyors of components, all have to be routed. with your smaller block system they become a new reality that would make building much more realistic and rewarding. Furthermore if you separate each into dedicated types its much easier to become controlled (from programming aspect). Take my thoughts with the grain of sand- I just thought SE2 was supposed to be a upgrade not a re-skin and redo of the old SE. I think you have a chance to make an amazing game, and I await your new attempts with anticipation. (Hint if your unsure stationeers has a good grasp of these ideas, all be it a little more complicated than need be) Like i said- just my opinion but man, Id be giddy if you took my advice!
