Planets in SE1 are quite empty. Maybe a scattering of trees on terrain and grass but otherwise quite bland. Densely forested areas could make for more interesting environments on planets but they don't have to look Earthlike either. Purple jungles in low gravity environments with fish swimming in fog. (image from Doctor Who, A Christmas Carol). Bioluminescent plants, strange twisting plants. Aquatic flora to make the most of the new water simulation.
