External device for NPC character language model processing

To make SE2 10x it needs advanced character NPC interactions.

Most gamers dislike the subscription model for gaming and some prefer that stand alone gaming must always be an option.

With the GPU market being pulled in directions other than gaming it is hard to predict a hardware base level that the majority of players will be able to attain. For those that wish to game on laptops and other portables the situation is far more challenging.

With these things in mind, the additional processor requirements for NPC interactions will invariably be put on the back burner in favour of core game needs.

There are devices for processing AI for as little as £250, although it is more than a squeeze to get these to work, with the efficiencies and improvements being developed for language models it should be possible to train an SLM for an SE2 NPC characters needs and to fit it on one of these devices. By having these as an external processor it will open up gameplay opportunities for many players on multiple platforms. £250 may seem a lot, but far cheaper than buying a top range GPU and for those that do have a top of the range GPU, having another processing device just for language model processing will mean that they will get to keep their max visuals and will not have to scale back to accommodate the language model.

If anything I have said is out of sorts please update me.

Many years ago I remember it was normal for gaming to buy sound cards, then graphics cards, then network cards, then why not Language model cards or peripherals?
