Game runs great until I open settings. Instant error message and freezes game.
Need More Information
The game seems to run fine. I can run around in creative with no noticeable issues. Only when I open settings to make changes do I run into problems. It instantly provides a very generic error message and then freezes the game.
I am then unable to exit the game. Task manager cannot close the game. Steam also becomes unresponsive, so I have to restart my PC.
System is less than two weeks old. I have not had a single issue with at least two dozen other titles.
I loved SE1 so I have no issue just waiting until things like this are resolved. Just frustrating at times. Don't stress over it too much Devs. You're doing great work. Keep it up. Bugs happen.

Does this issue still occurs for you? From the logs you've provided I see that you are running the Game with a few arguments. Have you tried launching the Game with no arguments?
Additionally, I see that you have Windows 8 installed, that also may be the cause as it is no longer supported by Microsoft, NVidia and AMD which means that newest GPU drivers will not work with your OS.
