Create new blueprint not functional in new empty world

I built a ship in the creative world CRF, and it got big enough I decided to move it to an empty world. No problem, was able to make new blueprints and import that print into the new empty world. Now after several hours of block placing and a bunch of precision copy, copies, cuts, and pastes, I wanted to make a blueprint of some block and no go. Ctrl+B doesn't do anything in this new world. When I loaded the old world, the create blueprint is still functional but is from an older version of the game. The new world, which is the file being supplied, is the problem.

Update on this issue. I seem to encountered a way to resolve my issue. The ship seems to have been to close to the asteroid somehow. I attempted to maneuver the ship away from the asteroid and it didn't move, not even do the thruster thing.. blue flame not go bigger. Started looking to see if it was touching the rock or not... Nope, seemed all clear.. F%*& it; I ctrl-c copied the ship, moved way away and paste. That one moves; ctrl-x cut the problem ship. Frustration no more. I have ctrl-b back and is now opening the create blueprint menu again. ...???

... dang it. So, after a bunch of building no issues, however after doing a bunch of copy and pastes, both with & without precision-copy, the ctrl-b menu gone missing again when I try to make a blueprint.
