Mirror Mode Keeps Disabling

Whether its using the paint gun or pasting a blueprint, mirror mode disables itself and it makes it difficult to build, as I usually won't notice until after I've built something and then I have to build it all over again.
Could you make it so it's always enabled until you manually disable it again, similar to SE1? That would make building a lot easier.
I've also noticed sometimes an action I take while building won't copy onto the other side even though everything around it copied over just fine. Not entirely sure if it's caused by mirror mode disabling itself, or if it's a separate issue.
