Collision Damage Speed Idea

I think the collision damage should be increased by the mass of the grid factoring in the speed of course. Example: A multi-million Kg ship is floating into an asteroid at about 10 meters per second, it's armor get's flattened and maybe even gouged depending on the asteroid's shape.

I think it should be more mathematical than just [minimum speed = damage can happen]. Maybe [according to mass and current speed = damage will happen to x degree]. I know it's the future in space and whatnot so maybe ship armor should be pretty tough, but even today your car get's dented by getting hit by a baseball only going so fast.
