Jump "Gate" catapults

Idea: A Jumpdrive or a secondary Jumpdrive-like device (Maybe an add-on the the Jumpdrive) should have an AOE effect and take other grids with it for fleet transit, and/or have a static grid act as a catapult (a Jump"Gate") and launch other mobile grids without the need for them to have drives themselves.

(Basically I envision that a Jumpdrive would have an AOE toggle that would grab all grids/players in range and take them with it, but if its attached to a static grid it would leave the static grid behind and send everything else. Of course there should be displacement sliders for controlling the range it grabs at and how far away from the drive is the center for the jump.)


As multiple play style options this could:

1. Enable friendly NPCs to launch players between planets.

2. Enable servers to restrict jumpdrives directly and use jumpgates for RP purposes.

3. Enable a Player with drones or allied players/grids to have a main command ship that carries other ships with them.

4. Allow for player cargo ships, which will be heavy enough as is, to travel long distances easier by using a local station to send them closer to their destination.


Counter play ideas:

1. By the Jumpdrive being AOE one would risk taking enemies with you.

2. Enemies could saturate the area with mass (basically bring their ships in close) forcing higher then available power requirements or shorten the jump.

3. Jumping other grids would require significantly larger amounts of power.

4. Poor configuration could leave a station suddenly missing its crew as they are jumped out and the static grid is left behind. This could be allied player error, or non-allied hostile act.
