Hyperspace - travel between star systems or servers

Jumping the hoop loop here.
Classic Sci-Fi extra dimensional space waiting/transit area for your vessel.
This is an intermediate game play phase that would allow transition out of your current system and into a new one.
Time do a little maintenance and planning whilst being delayed with
getting where you need to go.
This is not for local system travel.
This is an activity space/bubble/'pocket universe' while waiting to get into a server or loading in a new star system. Sort of an active loading screen.
An opportunity to open up the universe.
