Upgrading Blocks (thrusters, guns, ect.)

SE is lacking on one engineering aspect... Upgrading ships and items to improve them.
It would be awesome if there was a way that thrusters could have improved armor, speed/boost, or health. Same goes with customization on player weapons and different usage blocks.
