Can't Start New Grid inside Structure | Too easy to Cut stations

The distance to paste a new grid or start a new grid seems to auto snap to whatever other grid is behind your targeting reticle. This makes it very difficult to make a smaller ship inside a comfortable hangar, or to work on a modular part indoors.
A very similar issue, It's very easy to cut out the entire station or ship you're currently standing inside of. Perhaps a dialogue box asking if you're sure you want to proceed would be best.
