My engineer is not walking on the floors of the blue ship correctly after ramming it with the red ship. As you can see from the picture, I split them in half and walked inside the blue ship. Right away I was having difficulty moving through the ship at an angle. I did find some spots that this does not happen, and my character is aligned with the working gravity generator.

This is expected behavior. When two ships equipped with Gravity Generators are near each other, their gravity fields will intersect and when the ships are rotated related to each other, the resulting direction of gravity at this intersection will be a sum of both fields.
