Sliding collision inaccurate
Submitted
When trying to move blocks in contact with other blocks, they will catch on each others' bounding boxes, causing ships to jerk around. I found this most prominent when trying to create a railcar, I had a solid rail made of square pillar blocks and a pair of round pillar blocks on the railcar to hold the car in place. It did manage to slide roughly along the rail, but at the end of each individual pillar block on the rail the whole car would catch, lurch forward, and then with enough thrust get unstuck. I imagine this will be a less noticeable issue when wheels are added, but it would be a nice change from SE1 to be able to make sleds and sliding joints without hitches
I tried to make a sliding door having the same section size as its bearing. It gets stuck, unless a huge force is applied to it. Then it moves very slowly.
There was an update in SE1 allowing this kind of thing by fixing a lot of block collisions and improving the collision meshes. This would be a great improvement in SE2.
