Acceleration ignored unless there is enough thrust
I have noticed strange issue with acceleration not being applied to gring unless there is at least specific amount of thrust. This also seems to only affect acceleration as I am able to stop the grid with any amount with thrust.
I have attached save with grid that can reproduce this issue. this grid has 20 small thrusters at the back with one being disabled. This grid is not able to accelerate in any direction. This grid than has no issue accelerating after that one thruster is enabled. This is also strange when taken into consideration that the same ship is able to be stopped with only 2 thrusters.
There also seems to be some strange behavior of thruster effect activation because thrusters at the bottom and left are activated when accelerating by pressing W with the 20 back thrusters enabled.
Hello Marek Kotrč,
This is expected behaviour. Large and heavy grids will need more thrust to move all that mass.
For example, the grid you have provided in the save file is made of Heavy Armor blocks which has more mass than Light Armor blocks and has only Ion Thrusters 1m, if you used Ion Thrusters 5m instead, only one of them on each side can move the grid.
As for the braking, in Space Engineers 2 the damping multiplier is approximately 400% stronger than acceleration so that it is easier not to crash into your destination :)
I am closing this thread as per my explanation above.
