I'm okay with dampeners being stronger than manual thrusting, but I don't like manual thrusting being more powerful when thrusting opposing the direction of travel. This makes maneuvering with dampeners off feel strange. I'd much rather that be a boost-mode thing. Perhaps boost mode could also be applied to ship thrusters.
