By placing a cockpit on the surface of an asteroid I can mount it and then unmount and i am now in the asteroid. The zip fine i included has a green path from the base to two cockpits (ignore the one built on blocks this was to see if i could make the small asteroid into a ship), the green one enters the asteroid, the red on on the asteroid. As you can see i can build blocks inside the asteroid, thus creating an bastion that is impervious to outside attack.
This has been a bug since first version, i am running on the Hotfix 0.12.23.31 version.
