No Ship Damage on Strong Collisions

Investigating

Don't know when this started. When I first played it, damage worked fine, but now, nothing. Not even restarting, or rebooting the PC worked. Lowered graphics, increased graphics, also nothing. I'm not laggy either, it just bounces after hitting something.

Specs:

i9-12900H

RTX 3060 Laptop/Mobile

16GB DDR5 RAM

I get 30fps stable, but in some scenarios up to 60, with custom graphics settings, the GPU being the main bottleneck. I do use raytracing and most medium-high settings normally, but have tried all kinds of graphics options to see if that fixes it (it did not).

I experienced the same, albeit this was straight away after I crashed the red ship into the blue ship. The last time this happened I was unable to recover from reloading the save, so I had to start the world anew.

After further testing, it only happens in 1 world, but loading a different world, it's fixed. again. For how long? I don't know. No clue what the trigger is as of now.

yes, this happened to me as well, i actually was crashing ships for like 2h, then i had the idea to make a ship, once done and blueprinted, i flue at 300m/s into an asteroid and just shrugged it off. was kinda confused... did more testing and all destruction from velocity was bugged. idk what did this either, though i did use the blueprints? though i doubt it would be that.

Over all very strange bug...

I did build a ship too, and after, the destruction stopped working in the world. Could it be someting related to either building a new ship, or blueprinting? Some specific thing that just completely bricks a world's destruction? Do you remember what you exactly built, and maybe some interesting things that happened while building? I do remember building a small, box-y ship, with some slopes. Some I accidentally disconnected, deleted and rebuilt, just getting a feel for the new 25cm grid. I also used undo/redo for some parts to get it right, but really, nothing noteworthy.

I also had this issue, when playing on a single world for a long period ramming damage seems to stop functioning, restarting the game seemingly solves this issue, it was discovered on my live stream.

So there's multiple levels of destruction not working. In my case, the whole save file's destruction is just gone. Reloading doesn't fix, only starting a new save file does

same here

the whole destruction just stoped working, reloading doesn't fix it, restarting, no fix.

Start a new Map (Concordia Research Facility) did fix it,

I found out

Autosave is not a problem

but if I manualy save the game before impact, then the destruction stops working, right after making the save it stops working defore impact.

and if it still works after saving the game, it stops working on the reload of the state before impact

I've gotten the same bug aswell, twice now, specifically built a ship to crash into things as often as I can, created a new world after it happened the first time and it happened again after not too long, not even a huge amount of collisions, maybe a dozen, two dozen
