In-game Workshop not accepting multi-line descriptions

In the in-game workshop it is not possible to enter multi-line descriptions for workshop items. (Tried Enter, Ctrl-Enter, Alt-Enter, Shift-Enter.)
It is also not possible to past a multi-line text from the clipboard.
So I entered a multi-line text in the Steam online workshop (see attached image). Now the description is empty in the in-game workshop.
