Mirror function will turn itself off if you look away from the grid you are working on.

Investigating

The mirror placing mode is very sensitive to turning off if you look away from the grid while building. Not sure if this is a bug but it can be frustrating if you build for awhile without noticing that the mirror has shut off.

I originally thought it was looking away that was causing the mirror to turn off but it seems not to be the case necessarily.

Ok so if you hold something in your hand other than a block, or if you are holding nothing, that's when the mirror turns off.

It also happens when I enter a cockpit

Happens when copy pasting (CTRL+C) or cutting (CTRL+X) as well. It seems to reset the state of symmetry plane globally to off. I believe in SE1 the grid itself remember the last symmetry state, allowing you to have it on/off for specific grids. Right now it seems like a global toggle. Doing it similarly to SE1 would be ideal, once I turn on symmetry I don't like it being turned off for that specific grid unless I explicitly press the button.

Tested these all, culprits for exiting Symmetry mode.

Seems like an intended function but for these its kind of odd.

I thought it was just looking away from the build and changing block that has been triggering this for me

For me it's the same as Sullivan, and it's very annoying to realize that you spent 15 min on a build adding trim and it was only one side. because you cycled though the open hand with the mouse wheel or copied a block by mistake.
