grinding container containing datapad
Need More Information
so, i try to salvage as i go... so, i come to the first yellow container that has enginering datapad 01 in it... whelp.. ok, i got that datapad, this crate is just gonna sit here.... thats valuable plates and construction components. *grind* boom. message. that was important!
two options, reload, or main menu... well.. i already too the "important thing" from inside... i just wanna keep going. nah. not an option. these resources are off limits. you cant have them.
feels like we need the game to know the items in the chest have been looted, so its no longer "VITAL" and is now "salvage"

I have the same bug
Hello Marcus Parriott,
I could not reproduce this issue. After completing the first Tutorial, once the Datapad is in Character's inventory, the Crate can be grounded down without an issue.
Could you please provide a video of this issue?
Kind Regards,

it ONLY happened on the first one, the next one at the crashed craft area, didnt do it.
i will also go back and do it again, im not thinking clinically about it at the moment. and ensure the datapad is in my datapad catalogue, and read the datapad, then try to grind the crate.

ok, confirmed. if you follow the tutorial, and open the crate get the datapad then read the datapad, it does not give the error message, but if you dont read it immediately, it might not register. and it does not give you the option to continue on otherwise, losing the "vital information" which should absolutely be something someone can do and learn from haha.
