I've made approximately 8 attempts on this and nothing seems to work. I have video of my most recent attempt to show exactly what it's not doing after receiving "Completed" (if required).

As this contract is the last one for me at Dustspire Junction, on Kemik, I CANNOT progress any further until this is fixed!

Here's my full contract attempt (it's a little lengthy so fast forwarding is OK).

Hi there, same here : can't complete palatine's milestone mission " Station upgrade - long range communication facility" for the same exact same reason. Finished the work, got a success, tell me to go to the area to transfert property, went there, new success is displayed but, the waypoint does not move and the upper left corner does not display mission successfull. Third time I tried but I'm just blocked whatever I try. I'm stucked now

Same thing and in the debug panel the last objective shows complete. but the terminal will not let me claim it.

Greetings. I've read similar posts on the forum and have come to the conclusion that the quest completion trigger for this and similar quests isn't working correctly. Unfortunately, all my attempts to complete the quest have failed. (Note: Machine translation)

photo
1

Same IssueI have grinded down the site twice and abandoned the quest twice, and I still can’t get the quest to complete. Can we please get this resolved? It’s pretty disappointing, and to be honest, I don’t even want to play anymore. What’s the point if I can’t progress?

Just bloody complete the quest when all the components are built. Why do I have to stand in a green box 100m away? WTF?

What is supposed to happen? Do I have to stand back in the green box because the view is best there? Does a massive Titty rocket come down from space, followed by fireworks, and everyone is happy because of this massive radio beacon I built?

JUST COMPLETE THE QUEST WHEN ALL THE COMPONENTS ARE BUILT, FS

Hi Andrew,

I agree with you, it is frustrating not being able to finish it, especially that this mission is a "colonization" mission. What I did was I used the debug menu to finish it. Do a ctrl+f12 to open it; when you open the debug menu you will get a warning about unsafe features; click yes. On the left hand side select the "Contract" check box then, on the right hand side of the screen, scroll down to "Finish active contract" and click it.

You need to know that by opening the debug menu your save will be marked as using it and you will get a message that "this game was altered with the Debug Menu" and you will have to click "Yes" every time you load the game.

I hope this helps until the devs fix it.

photo

1. “this game was altered with the Debug Menu" showing up every time you load a game and having click on it to make it continue (understandably) is highly annoying though less annoying I suppose than not being able to progress. 2. My personal brief foray into this resulted in a save file that caused my PC to crash multiple times and it never crashes otherwise. JUST BE SURE TO RETAIN YOUR SAVE FILE. FIRST.

photo

At least you're able to grind down,, The grid despawns on me when i try to recover the resources to try again, I wish we could remote into the Contract Terminal to activate contracts, this constant back and forth is tedious for a game set int he Distant Future.

I have the same issue with the "Station Upgrade - Long Range Communication Facility" from Palatine Station

photo

Hello Engineers,

This is a known issue which is already reported internally and we are planning on releasing a fix as part of today's Hotfix.

I have added this thread to our internal ticket (SE2-34923).

Unfortunately, even with the update, the mission cannot be completed. Same problem as before.

photo

Same problem, I tried the mission today for the first time, and couldn't complete with the latest patch. Close, abandoned and tried again, still unable to complete after moving to designated spot.

Ditto

I attempted this several more times abandoning/restarting, taking extra time to move between objectives (to make sure it had time to load previous objective completion), moving build point to another spot within the frame etc. Nothing seems to work. I believe this contract is required for sector progression so kinda seems important.

Hello,

Apologies for the intrusion, my I kindly ask if this hotfix will impact also other Station Upgrade contracts which are failing completion like:

Thank you kindly.

"I am on Almagest, and I have the same issue with the 'Station Upgrade - Hydrogen Unit' mission. I stood in the green cube, got a 'Mission validated' message, and then nothing happened. However, I still have the GOSActiveContract marker on the small green cube with no way to finish this step." - Translated

Hello Engineers,

Most of the Station Upgrade Contracts in Verdure, Kemik and Oblivara Sectors seem to be affected by this issue. The fix that will be released in today's Hotfix should affect all of the bugged Contracts.

Please make sure to abandon and re-accept the Contract after the Hotfix is released so that the updated logic is applied to the Contract.

Il m'a sembler qu'il y avais une mise à jour, mais ça ne marche toujours pas !?

photo

Hello,

Is it in Build 24841638? The patch bears no title nor description (thou, from diff list I can see Radio Contract being touched) :S

photo
1

Nope... Still doesn't work after hotfix. And when you merged the topics, you missed my original post which went something like this:

"So I'm trying to complete Station Upgrade - Hydrogen Facility. I have done it MANY TIMES already but each time I complete the building, it gives me credit and says now I must move to another block to transfer the facility. When I touch the new green frame block, it tells me it's complete and the block disappears. 1 second later, it reappears and it's no longer complete.

After hotfix, I reloaded save file from previous contract just before claiming finished contract. I then selected the Oblivara Contract: "Station Upgrade - Hydrogen Facility". Went to location, build structure, got credit for completing it and told to go to transfer location. Went to transfer location, it said completed but green cube remained along with gold contract destination indicator telling me to go to the location I was already in.

Attached is save file and screenshots.

I'm on 2.4.0.86, and having the same bug. I have tried dropping the contract twice on this newest hotfix, and then re-completing. I still get the same behavior, build the Antenna array for the quest, shows green, tells me to move to the square to transfer, and then doesn't complete.

photo
1

Update war leider ohne Erfolg ;-) Problem weiterhin existent

photo
photo
1

Emanuel did you try what Bartosz said, you need to drop contract, and start new one, only than according to Bartosz task logic will work.

photo
1

oui

photo
1

i did abandon 2 times already after hotfix and even check files integrety

photo
photo
1

Interesting, I will check later when I will be on my PC and let you know if this worked for me, last time I've checked there was no hotfix available yet.

photo
2

I’m having trouble with the mission ‘Station Upgrade – Orbital Surveillance Network’ from the Dustspire Junction base. I closed the game, downloaded the hotfix, and then logged back in.

I cancelled the mission, accepted it again, and launched back into space. Then I built the satellites, flew to the drop-off zone, and nothing happens, apart from the mission text disappearing.

photo
2

I also restarted the mission after the hotfix, installed all the objects, and completed the intermediate objective, but there was still no transfer of ownership. Thank you for looking into the issue.

photo
2

I’ve tried abandoning the mission, accepting it again, and building a completely new radio tower, but unfortunately the problem remains exactly the same.

The mission objective is completed, but ownership is not transferred, the marker remains, and the mission does not proceed to the “Claim Reward” stage.

The issue occurs with the radio tower mission on Verdure.

So unfortunately, the hotfix did not solve the issue.

photo
2

I just retried after the hotfix and can confirm this still doesn't work in the Verdure system, on looking at the hotfix notes in more detail it seems it may have been fixed in a different system.

Same issue as before, when moving to the smaller square to handover the grid it says objective completed but the contract doesn't progress and the player is still able to edit the grid.

photo
1

I can no longer work on the system after handover... Nevertheless, the mission is not progressing further... (I cannot collect a reward)

photo
photo
2

I also abandoned the mission and restarted after the update, still no Joy. get the completion for building tower, then go to the transfer point and it pings but nothing else happens. It does not advance to the claim rewards Stage. After reading the update log the hotfix was for the Oblivara sector not the Verdure System so yea the game is stuck at this stage of gameplay until another hotfix can be applied. I really wanted to continue, been building my base but can't advance any to the next system to get the resources and new equipment opened to do any more.

photo
2

Same here applied the new update restated the mission and still no luck

photo
1

I uploaded my save, one of the other guys tried it and it passed for them, they had no issues. i abandoned the mission and did a complete relaunch of the game. still failed to finish the objective

photo
2

Same, i started mission again tonight after hot fix and still can not complete and because of this i can not progress in Verdure (this mission is at Palatine Station)

photo
2

Same here. Verdure system. Build the tower. Get confirmation, go to the little green box to transfer ownership, get confirmation and that's where it stops. Mission does not complete.

photo
photo
2

Have the exact problem with the construct the hydrogen facility mission stuck. 3rd time I've started over from scratch

photo
2

also the same happens at station upgrade - orbital cargo hub mission

i hav finished two times the mission but could not complete it. the second time after abandon the mission and receiving it again, the structures i have built vanished

photo
2

Same for me on station upgrade - hydrogen. Mission shows as complete but the quest pointer still on the small transfer cube. in the menu the contract is still shown as active. Let me know if there is a workaround!

photo

Hi Gunar,

There is a workaround; please read my comment for Andrew above.

His long range is on planet, mine is in Space, last one to open next sector.

He said... Still not fixed? As a reminder, it IS stopping progression for some of us. We do appreciate your efforts in this.

photo
3

Same here! I'm still facing the same issue after patch v2.4.0.95 that got installed today for the mission Station Upgrade - Long Range Communication Facility

photo
1

Interesting I've just finished without problems. I can go to Kemik now.

photo
2

Long Range Communication Facility not working!!! Please fix!

photo

This is still not fixed despite a previous thread stating it has been.

photo

No response from Keen in 9 days, I wonder if they are still monitoring this. Maybe we should start a new thread?

photo
photo
1

Did you try uploading your world to the Steam Workshop and then starting a new game from this world?

You keep all your constructions, but you will have to redo the tasks. This solution fixed the problem for me, and I’ve already progressed to the next sector.

For those who say, “I’m not going to do these tasks again,” I would say that there probably won’t be another solution. The game is still in alpha, and some bugs may not be fixable otherwise.

I’m not a developer, so if I hear that this is the solution, considering the current alpha stage of the game, I believe it.

photo
1

Finish the task from the debug menu? This could be another solution. As you said, this is alpha so mark it as debug won't matter.

photo
photo
1

No I finished it completely normally like supposed to be done. I had same problems like you guys. But same day when hotfix was realised after Bartosz instructions what to do to apply hotfix changes i completed the task like any other, no debug menu I didn't want to brake my save game

photo
1

I actually bit the bullet and restarted from .93 from scratch today. Got stuck with a contract that does not complete the same way with the missle/turret contract. Unfortunately even with a fresh world the contracts still have issues

photo
1

I concur ... started fresh as well, the hydrogen base mission does not finish.

I believe it is sort of redundant writing here now as the devs know about the issue; they've released a fix two days ago I believe and this one was not in it so it may not be very important.

Personally, I have used the debug menu and opened the other sectors for travelling so I can have some fun (this is an alpha so the saves are not ... importnant for me).

photo
1

I think the restart actually worked. I just hit the separate issue with that destroy renegate base when you reload mid contract. The hydro upgrade worked finally.

photo
photo

Did you try to verify steam files, in Dev instructions after release it was mentioned as a step.

So I exported the world verify steam files for SE2 started new game using the world I've previously exported an it worked im on 3 mission now on Kemik. So far no issues. Sorry I didn't mentioned about steam files verification I've totally forgotten about it. It came to my mid when I was reading you still have issues, with this mission. And one more thing if you export world previously edited with debug menu It might be also causing issues on its own. So in that case I would start completely new. But verify steam files for se2 first.

I hope it will work for you guys. As I want you to have a fun like me game have incredible potential. All tho my ships come out ugly as he'll.

Im still learning as creative game like this is my first.

Hello Engineers,

This issue was fixed with the Hotfix 1 for VS2.4 and in New Games, the Station Upgrade Contracts can be completed, however, due to how already generated Contracts are stored in the the Saved Game, fix does not work retroactively and the Contracts have to be refreshed.

You should be able to refresh the Contracts by either:

  • Abandoning the Contract, reloading the Game and accepting the Contract again (it may take several attempts) or,
  • Publish your World to Steam Workshop and start a New Game from it or,
  • Use the debug menu to regenerate all Contracts:
  1. Make sure that there is no active Contract
  2. Open debugmenu (Ctrl+F12)
  3. On the left panel select Gameplay → Contracts
  4. On the right panel scroll down until you see "Generation" tab
  5. Press "ClearAllContracts" button
  6. Press "ReGenerateContracts" button
  7. Scroll to the bottom of the right panel
  8. Press "Refresh" button and wait a few seconds

If you are still affected by this issue after performing these solutions, please create a new thread.

Kind Regards,

Bartosz

1. I loaded a save from the previous contract that was ready to turn in. I turned it in and saved the game with no contracts chosen. I completely closed out the game and reloaded it then went and accepted the Station Upgrade - Hydrogen Facility contract. I completed the rebuild as was asked and was told to go to the transfer block. It did the exact same thing it's been doing, erasing my build and leaving the green transfer block in place.

2. If I "Publish your World to Steam Workshop and start a New Game from it" does this mean I will have to go back and redo all of the previous contracts which I have already done multiple times already?

3. Use the debug menu to regenerate all Contracts - not doing this, it causes my computer to lock up.

photo
2

For me it worked with:

  • Use the debug menu to regenerate all Contracts:
  1. Make sure that there is no active Contract
  2. Open debugmenu (Ctrl+F12)
  3. On the left panel select Gameplay → Contracts
  4. On the right panel scroll down until you see "Generation" tab
  5. Press "ClearAllContracts" button
  6. Press "ReGenerateContracts" button
  7. Scroll to the bottom of the right panel
  8. Press "Refresh" button and wait a few seconds

photo
2

@Engineer

"3. Use the debug menu to regenerate all Contracts - not doing this, it causes my computer to lock up." -> in case the only worry is the message you get when you load the save, you can easily remove that by:

1. Go to %appdata%\SpaceEngineers2\AppData\SaveGames\

2. Find the folder with your saved game name

3. Copy this folder some place else creating a backup copy

4. Inside, open .container-info with a text editor

5. Change line 16:

from: "UsedDebugMenu": true,

to: "UsedDebugMenu": false,

6. Save the file

7. Enjoy

This will remove the warning message.

For what it's worth...

I loaded a save file from prior to accepting the "Station Upgrade - Hydrogen Facility" in Oblivara. I accepted a DIFFERENT contract, abandoned, selected another different contract, abandoned, then selected the Hydrogen Facility again all while saving, exiting to Windows, restarting and loading between each one. (was trying to make sure the contracts were all cleared) After accepting the Hydrogen Facility "initially" after the "fix" and building it, I stil l the "objective complete" after each stage but the green block never disappears and the gold indicator stays on the block. This must have been the 20th time building this. :~( I guess I will attempt the debug menu again but if I still get crashes.... But alas, that will have to wait for another day.

photo
2

FINALLY!! After what what seems like at LEAST 100 attempts and trying absolutely EVERYTHING it finally completed the Hydrogen Facility contract. I finally broke down and used the debug menu method to clear all contracts and at least so far, no crashes. Hopefully it will continue. Thanks @Nick Dragomir, your tip on removing the debug nag worked great as well. One thing to note for anyone who may try this, clearing the contracts in the debug menu reset all contracts so I had to do 3? contracts previous to the Hydrogen one that was bugged.
