Bulk bug report :)

Solved

Keen, you folks are great and SE2 is shaping up to be a phenomenal game! I see you're about to drop a stability update, so here's my last-minute bulk report of petty bugs I've found so far:

Inventory interface:

-Event Controller "Compare To" value (access Grid > Control Panel > select Event Controller) doesn't always get stored (e.g. reverts to zero):

--when set, then grid exited with Esc key >> DOESN'T get stored

--when set, then a different Block is selected >> DOES get stored

-when transferring Resources from "right side" Inventory to "left side" Inventory with a Search Filter applied to right-side, Alt & Shift modifier keys are ignored, i.e. the entirety of the resource is transferred instead of 10/100/1000 units. Note: this bug doesn't apply when transferring Resources from left side to right side

-in "left side" Inventory, it's impossible to move a Resource from one sub-Inventory to another (e.g. from one Cargo Container on left side to another on left side). this bug doesn't apply to "right side" Inventory

-Smelter (and possibly other machinery) can be "clogged" with resources (e.g. by blindly moving bulk resources into a Grid), being unable to clear Input container to make room for needed resources. consider adding a warning when a machine fails, so players can see why it isn't working?

-Player Character inventory fill bar doesn't update when resources are dumped via right-click (possibly other Inventories too, haven't tested)

Block placing/fabrication:

-when placing non-Mirrored blocks in Mirrored mode (e.g. Light Armor Slope Transition Tip or mirrored version), corresponding "mirror" block is placed in mirrored position WITHOUT using the mirrored version

-when welding with a combination of Components and Raw materials, the right column (for Resource amounts held in Inventory) doesn't have a "gap" line corresponding to the left column (e.g. "Use Raw Materials:"), so any displayed amounts below that "gap" are on the wrong lines. also, the combination of raw Resources (in kg), alongside Components (by quantity) doesn't differentiate the types (kg vs quantity). see screenshot, sorry for poor description

Contract-specific:

-when dropping off bulk Iron for a Contract to Vallation Station (early Contract, I don't remember the name, sorry) any excess Iron dropped off will also disappear once goal amount has been reached. this behavior is inconsistent with other Contracts

-in Station Upgrade - Radio Beacon, mission doesn't check if components are removed after "Move Over to Transfer Ownership" stage, e.g. the whole tower can be removed after being placed, without disturbing the mission parameters. this is inconsistent with other Contracts

-both Bulk Delivery Contract descriptions at Vallis Reach (and possibly others?) state "Location: Space" despite actually being deliverable to Vallis Reach

-Contract "Deliver Large Construction Components" at Vallis Reach, only removes 150 Metal Grids on completion, despite Objective requiring 200

-gripe, not bug: Station Upgrade - Radio Beacon requires 2kW of solar power, but calls for 90kW worth of radio antennae?

Miscellaneous:

-forum interface: attempting to upload a file too large will quietly remove the attachment (after upload is complete & without warning). consider adding a preemptive warning about file size limits?

-forum interface: pasted text is scrubbed of tab-ins, (e.g. this bug report, am I going too far now?)

-GPS Marker Group names disappear/revert when loading a Saved game, e.g. from "Named Marker Group" to "Group 1"

-when loading a Saved game shortly after selling bulk resources to a Trade Station, the Trade Station will only hold a small amount of resources for Sale. this is reset when a Station reverts back to its default 400,000 Credits after some time

--example: sell a bunch of Resources to a Trade Station, leave them broke, Save & Load the game, suddenly they have very little in stock

-Grinders on ships don't try to move Components to other containers, e.g. Cargo Containers. this is inconsistent with ship Drills, which do attempt to move resources away into containers when possible

-displayed Grid Mass value (lower right) while in Cockpit/Control Seat (namely on ships/non-anchored grids) doesn't consistently update. sometimes it updates continuously, sometimes it doesn't. IDK what I expect you to do with this info, but uh, thanks Keen!

Please reach out with questions if anything is unclear in this report <3 appreciate you guys!

Hello Asdam,

Please note that Support threads follow a One issue - One report rule as it is easier to track which issues are fixed or not and helps us with categorization and prioritization of each issue.

As for your points:

Inventory interface:

1. Compared Value not being saved is already tracked here: https://support.keenswh.com/spaceengineers2/pc/topic/54929-event-controller-compared-value-not-saved and has been fixed on the Smoother, Stable & Faster (VS2.4) update releasing 17th of August.

2. Drag & Drop modifiers (Alt, Shift and CTRL) does not always work when using filters - I was able to reproduce this for both left and right side inventories. Please create a separate Bug Thread

3. I was unable to reproduce this issue - Resource can be moved from inventory to inventory on the left side. If you can still reproduce this, please create a separate Bug Thread with additional info and a video.

4. Could you please clarify what do you mean by "clogging" the Smelter? You should be able to clear the Input container of Production blocks without any problem. Please create a separate Bug Thread with additional info and a video.

5. Player Character inventory fill bar doesn't update when resources are dumped via right-click - I was able to reproduce this. Please create a separate Bug Thread.

Block placing/fabrication:

1. This is expected behavior. Symmetry mode does not support changing blocks for other variants.

2. I could reproduce this issue. Please create a separate Bug Thread.

Contract-specific:

1. Indeed, any excess Iron will be removed from the Delivery Container. Please create a separate Bug Thread.

2. I was able to reproduce this. Additionally, deleting the Beacon and then proceeding to transfer causes the Contract to be softlocked - abandoning and accepting again fixes this. Please create a separate Bug Thread.

3. Please create a separate Bug Thread.

4. Station Upgrade - Radio Beacon requires four Solar Panel 5 m and four Battery 1.5 m blocks. Each battery when build has 300 kWh or charge and max output of each Solar Panel is 500 kW. With good placing of the Solar Panels and having 4 Batteries to store the power, there should be no issue with power. Could you please clarify, where did you got the 2kW of solar power from?

Miscellaneous:

1. As far as I know, we don't have power to change the interface of the Support Site as we are using UseResponse software, we are limited in the way we can change the Site.

2. See above.

3. GPS group names do not persist after reloading. Please create a separate Bug Thread.

4. I could not reproduce this issue. Trade Terminal's sale inventory does not decrease when selling a lot of resources and then reloading the Game. Please create a separate Bug Thread with a video of this issue, if you can still reproduce this.

5. Ship Grinders move the grinded components to free Cargo Containers and other connected Inventories before their own dedicated is full correctly. Please create a separate Bug Thread with a video of this issue, if you can still reproduce this.

6. This is expected. The Grid's mass visually updates only when the amount of added mass is higher than 5% of the Grid's total mass ,this includes the Character and Character's inventory mass when entering and leaving the Cockpit / Control Seat (This means that Character's mass increases the Grid's total mass when inside).

To summarize: please create separate Bug Threads for the points I have marked.

As such, I will close this thread.

Kind Regards,

Bartosz
