Lights not lighting things up
Submitted
My little tunnel mining ship is full of lights but they're not lighting anything up at all, unless by pure chance I randomly get to see a lit up tunnel for a brief moment, but the nice view doesn't last long. The only exception to this is the front spotlights, they seem to be lighting things up consistently.
I'm assuming the lit up tunnel in the 3rd picture is what it's supposed to look like all the time?

I have the same bug
Saving, going to the main menu, and loading doesn't fix it. Exiting game, restarting game, and loading fixes the issue temporarily

I'm not sure this is a bug so much as the game not providing high enough intensity directed light. Light/Radiation/Electromagnetic energy in general is subject to the inverse square law. The type of light you see in the dark is similar to the type of light you'd see underwater as well. The game seems to cycle through shaders, and perhaps there is a condition where the shader is making things darker than necessary depending if the sun is up or not, or a weather condition is active. I know when it's dark and windy, it's REALLY dark.
Perhaps the game needs to have a configurable power level driven by the ship's electrical system. Above a certain level it pulls down power rapidly, and below a certain level it resorts to ... oh say tritium standby lights so the ship isn't completely black even when unpowered unless you choose to turn them off (by invoking a shutter) to go stealth.
AFAIK, I think it is supposed to be "dark", depending on the active weather system. Exiting the game forces the shaders to be recompiled if they've disappeared. (see thrusters exhaust disappearing)

This light issue is being caused by the launch argument -preloadBasedSolarGenerator
Without that launch argument, flash points on any lights flicker on and off and my game starts stuttering after ~30 minutes of playing, but the light radius works fine.
With that launch argument, i have ~ 3 1/2 hours of playing before the stutter pops up, but the light radius is almost nonexistent.
I'll pick my poison for now I guess and deal with the dark so I can play :)

All my interior lights have stopped producing illumination. Spot lights still work but not the interior. The issue did not start until I started mining with my small mining ship. The ship has interior lights and 1 spot light. After the bug started all the interior lights at my main base stopped producing illumination as well.
I am not using any launch arguments
