Thrusters don't shut off when parked +Bonus performance bug

Need More Information

Unsure if its a bug but I will report it as such for the following

1. It is consuming hydrogen and power endlessly which will deplete ressources unless you turn off the ship.

However doing so presents a problem where the batteries will not be charging when parked.

To work around this requires to group the thrusters and turn them off through that... Which is why I'm not so sure its a bug yet at the same time feels like an odd decision to make :D

2. It also causes the sound of a thrumming pulsing sound of the engines going on and off in cycle.

To solve this, I would suggest making the auto mode include the constraint of batteries switch to forced charge when the ship is turned off. That way the thrusters won't be on and the batteries will still charge while parked. Meanwhile if flying and the ship is on, the batteries will be on "use". Thus creating a benefit to leaving your ships off to charge them faster as it shuts down the systems...

Extra:

Interacting with Large groups, also forming them causes the game to stutter or worse freeze and crash. I am speaking well over 20 items of course, The game getting super laggy from my experience. Fixed through a reload... Usually otherwise a full game restart.

Hello Maxc_007,

Could you please provide a video recording of your issue? Are you using any mods in your playthrough? I could not reproduce the issues you described - Hydrogen Thrusters do not consume any Hydrogen when parked on a planet.

Kind Regards,

I was not using mods and was on creative building when last noticing, the bug occured with Ion thrusters which prevented batteries from charging properly But I had noticed it with hydrogen vanishing from my ship's reserves in survival. I will clear up The details and conditons that seem to trigger this...

This is a bug that occurs around PARKING the ship using the Connectors NOT using landing gears and I've only seen the bug happen out in space on platforms or large ship grids. As for the video... I am unsure what causes the bug so I can't quite tell for sure but I can see that when I park a small ship in my large ship for instance, the battery doesn't properly charge, it is consumed even though I am stationary on the Parking Connector.... Here is the thing though visually nothing changes, but the sounds will have a thrumming of Ion thrusters firing off and the Time until Full stops stuttering the moment I turn off all the thrusters on the smaller ship so I know that its something to due with how the connector and grids behave in space and likely not on a planet because the gravity helps stabilize the "parked ship" to count as parked, while it counts as "drifting" to the gyros when in space which may then cause the thrusters to try to stay level, But being locked prevents them from succeeding thus slowly drainning batteries and Hydrogen though I'd have to test with hydrogen to be sure, I know the bug exists for Ion thrusters and distinctly remember my Ice vanishing even though I left my Sledge on the platform connector. Leaving it ON so the battery charged... Well 20 minutes or so later after building a habitat. It had cost me well over 4k ice in idle consumption which is why I now allways group my thrusters and the H20 in a group together to turn on and off when at a rest stop or anchored to connectors as to avoid this little "bug"

I will add onto here what I've figured out but I've found out that it is almost 100% related to being tilted when landed, the crookedness causes the thrusters to attempt to compensate and make the ship level even though its attatched. And it likely only happens in locations without gravity. I also figured out that it isn't exclusive to connectors but the parking mechanics and relationship with the gyroscopic controls when in space. Most likely doesn't occur at stations either for they have a gravity generator that flattens the craft more often... Hope this helped
