I have the same bug
For me it's not random, it's everytime I use Strg+Shift+Double Left Click (transfer 1000 of x). Which used to be my preferred method for transfering ores and large amounts of stuff.

I think I've figured out the conditions for this.
If you try to move more of an item than would fit into your inventory, even if the amount available in storage WILL fit in your inventory, it incorrectly plays the "Inventory Full" message.
So, for example:
Moving 10 or 100 steel plate from my storage to my inventory with SHIFT or CTRL respectively: works, no message.
Moving 182 steel plate (the amount in this container) to my inventory with double-click: works, no message.
Moving 182 steel plate to my inventory by using CTRL+SHIFT+dblclick: works, but incorrectly says my inventory is full.
If the requested amount would be too much for your inventory, you get the "Inventory Full" message even if the available amount will fit with no issue.

I had 91 silicon in the ship's inventory when I tried this transfer, and I was able to replicate this error plus perform more experiments to refine the issue. Videos were recorded testing each item transfer key combination. I tested this on v2.2.0.2002.
1) Double-click transfer of a full stack does not trigger the message.
2) Transfer of a full stack for each key combination (10, 100, 1000) does not trigger the message.
3) Transfer of a non-full stack with each key combination (1, 91, 890) does trigger the message.
4) This does occur with all keyboard combinations for stack transfer. CTRL, SHIFT, CTRL+SHIFT
FYI I was transferring iron and silicon to my inventory at the mission point where you need to get ice, so I could build lights on the ice platform when I noticed the issue.
