Bullfrog Welder doesn't work anymore

Frido Hohls shared this bug 20 days ago
Solved

Hi,

I've repaired the Bullfrog SW-31 Welder in the Mission

Engineerging Industrial Foothold - The Viridian Halo

After a few parts I have been completed, it suddenly stops working, even though there are enough resources in the welders.

It still works with the character's welder.

I could send a save file/folder as a .zip

Hello Frido Hohls,

Could you please provide a video recording of your issue? Additionally, could you please attach a screenshot of the Bullfrog's inventory?

Hello Bartosz,

see attachment...

When I first started welding, I began with materials such as steel plates.

If I put steel plates in the container, I can carry on welding. But it ignores the ore.

Greetings

Maybe, it's not a Bug, but then the explanation is not detailed enough for me.

I have the same problem

Hello Engineers,

Welder blocks are using only Components for welding and should only accept those in their inventories. I have reported this issue and attached this thread to our internal ticket (SE2-31704).

The issue is welders not pulling components to weld from conveyors reference the vids I uploaded

Hello jake R,

I could not reproduce this on my end. Does this issue occurs with Bullfrog welder ships as well for you? Could you please share the blueprint of affected ship? You can find your local blueprint here:

Here I’ll do you one better I’ll link the world that I have (and it’s every welder) I haven’t gotten to that mission yet because I stopped playing

You should be right in front of the welder question

And I do believe there’s another welding ship above the cargo ship that I built completely brand new and it still has the same issue

Hey Jake R,

I found out that the welders do not immediately grab components out of cargo containers once they are placed inside. Instead, the welders take from the cargo containers only when it needs components to build something.

If you are confused, just put some steel plates in the cargo container then go weld something to about half completion, then look at the container again and you will see that steel plates are still inside of the cargo container and not in the welder.

Pretty good quality of life feature from the developers.

go take a look at this video its a bug not a feature https://youtu.be/3wI6bPyrNF0?si=-fRqsEXFlE0v5T8V

maybe try it with one welder and see how it works. i tried in a similar way to how you did it and noticed power being drawn on my end when it was taking materials out of the cargo container. perhaps there is a power bottleneck because of the amount of cargo containers you have going to the individual welders, as well as the fact some of them are connected. to add to that, maybe put a conveyor or two between the container and welder to see if power is getting between the two

Hello jake R,

I managed to reproduce this issue - indeed, the Welder blocks are not pulling Components from the Cargo Containers if either connected directly or through Conveyor system. I have reported this issue and attached this thread to our internal ticket (SE2-31797).

Glad I could help!

Hello jake R,

This issue is tied to Hand Welder working mode - Switching the working mode of the Hand Welder to Raw Mode should make the Block Welders to pull the components again as a workaround while we are working on a permanent solution.

What in the hell lmao as a star citizen player I gotta say that’s an impressive bug, I’ll try that out and get back to you

Also quick question are you guys going to limit the size of conveyors you can pas materials through or are you leaving it open just so I don’t get confused with builds moving forward

Thanks!

Hello jake R,

There are no plans to limit the size of conveyors you can pass materials through the future Vertical Slices.

Hello Engineers,

Welder blocks now can only accept Components into their Inventory and can pull Components from Cargo Containers regardless if connected directly to it or through the Conveyor system and are no longer tied to Hand Welder working mode.

Fixes to both issues should be shipped with the next Hotfix.

As such, I will close this thread. Happy Engineering!
