Lost Asteroid Base contract fails if debris is destroyed
In one of the first contracts "Engineering - Lost Asteroid Base" you are given the task of repairing an abandoned asteroid base. The first objective is to "Move the broken containers away from the proximity of the base."
The containers are damaged and empty, and don't appear to be necessary in any way to the function of the base. And yet grinding them (which to me seemed like the most efficient way to get rid of them while also recycling parts which could be used to rebuild the base), fails the mission immediately. (You have to grind the functional cargo container part.)
I know there are other contract where the actual objective is to move crates, but given that in this contract the crates were literally called "debris" I didn't assume they were mission critical.
Since in this context the crates are debris, my expected behavior is that if the crates leave the area, either by being pushed away OR by being destroyed, it should count as a success.
I have the same bug
Hello Steven Palermo,
This is intended behavior. Before that change, grinding the debris would cause the Contract to be impossible to finish. Please note that Contracts system is still early in its development and will be expanded upon in future Vertical Slices.
Since the described behavior is intended, I will close this thread as Not a Bug.
