Inertial dampeners behaving strangely with some thrusters disabled

Solved

In order to cruise long distances in gravity, I tried the old SE1 trick of disabling the reverse-firing thrusters and turning on dampeners so they could hold altitude but not stop the ship. This caused the bottom thrusters to fire more violently, at least visually, as well as the rear thruster, which I really don't understand. Why should dampeners try to accelerate the ship, I don't know. That's the bug.

I have a save file made while this was happening, but can't upload here. I've uploaded here: https://limewire.com/d/JZsT8#HzdhGROics But if you'd like me to send it to you some other way, let me know.

I have come across what I think might be the same problem. After disabling some thrusters the dampeners start malfunctioning. re-enabling the thrusters does not correct it.

Saving the game, then reloading appears to correct it, so I assume that it is the loading of the grid that actually corrects it.

Hello orcaman98,

Issue with Inertial Dampeners behaving erratic when backward thrusters is OFF has been fixed on our internal environments and should be shipped as a part of VS2.2 release.

As such, I will close this thread.

Happy Engineering!
