Unknown Signal Vanished

Need More Information

I was grinding down some light armor blocks on the floor and the base at the unknown signal vanished. I don't think that was supposed to happen.

Every single unknown signal is being despawned for me after a brief time. Sometimes faster sometimes later, but I rarely can finish investigating them or collect loot.

This has happened to me twice while investigating "destroyed ship in space" encounters. Not a big percentage of the total number of unknown signals I've investigated, but still jarring when it happens.

Having the same problem here. They usually disappear as soon as I get close to them so I haven't been bothering to check them out lately. It wouldn't be bad to have a despawn timer again to see how long they have left before they vanish.

While traveling through uncharted space; since the latest update v2.0.2.51 it's almost impossible to get to an unknown signal. One out of 10+ attempts is successful at reaching one before it vanishes, even if 2 or 3 appear on the radar at the same time. When we do get to an unknown signal we never know if it will be there for a second to 5 minutes before it vanishes.

They seem to spawn in as they always have, perhaps a bit less and far less random, but even when it only takes 30 seconds to reach the location they normally vanish before arrival.

All of the unknown signals showing on the HUD vanish at the same time.

Today I've had several vanish like this. They appear on the HUD at less than 10km but by the time I am there they have poofed. On several occasions I was in sight of the abandoned buildings but they just vanished. One time I was in the middle of space debris and had looted a couple of lockers when the whole field of debris vanished. The SE1 version showed a timer so you could see if the signal was worth investigating. I'm fairly sure that the lifespan of the ones I missed today isn't the 14 mins of SE1.

Happens all the time now. Get close or even be there as soon as it appears and POOF gone. On survival not creative. Fix this please asap

In case this is useful, I tried grinding down the antenna on a space debris unknown signal as soon as I got to it to see if doing that would remove it from whatever cleanup list is being polled, and the ship still disappeared while I was grinding the rest of it down.

I found that grinding the energy source, either battery or reactor (or both), often prolonged the time before the unknown signal spawn wanished again.

Given enought time to grind down everything to components, thus i often have to build more container blocks to my "tiny" cargo ship to store it all.

Also once renamed the antenna signal output from unknown to what i prefered, and signal was still there a few hours later when i went by (ice asteroid with station)

Hello Evelyn Fjord,

I could not reproduce this issue on current Game version: v2.0.2.51. Does this issue still occurs for you?

This happens all the time. Weird it is not happening to you when you play.

As you are grinding down components, everything disappears.

Hello Engineers,

I could not reproduce this issue on current Game version: 2.0.2.51. Could you please attach a video recording of the issue and Game logs?

Additionally, do you run any mods during gameplay?

Kind Regards,

I will send video and logs the next time I play. I do not run any mods. I've redone the world many times. The longer I play a world the more often the issue happens. This means it is after every contract has been completed. If you have a long running world then the issue will also be in your world. Yes, this is in Game version: 2.0.2.51.

The unknown signals will appear, sometimes only for a split second. Other times they could vanish at any time from a second onward. The more unknown signals that spawn in at the same time the quicker they seem to vanish. When they vanish they all vanish, well most of the time. I had one vanish that I was grinding along with another, but the 3rd unknown signal didn't vanish until I started heading towards it.

All you have to do is fly around asteroid hopping in places you have not been before for the unknown signals to spawn. Sometimes it takes 5 or so minutes. The more asteroids around the more chances of 1 to 3 of them spawning in simultaneously.

Myself, I wonder if the game spawns the unknown signals in, then checks to see if they exceed a PCU limit and if so removes them.

In case it helps, it may not be how long we play the game for. It may be how far we explore or how large our base and ships become. In my longest running world, I was only able to get to one unknown signal out of approximately 10. In previous versions of the game, prior to the latest update, I could re-visit previous unknown signal locations where they would re-spawn after so much time has passed. the latest .51 release no longer does this, which is good, but though I would mention it in case it helps track down the vanishing unknown signals.

I made 1 usable video with logs and savegame fails.

Edit: Game is as is at steam - no mods, latest stable version

I played for hours, two different games and was surprised that I did not run into the issue. I originated and remained in the Oblivara sector. This was the ONLY day that the unknown signals worked correctly for me. I did not have 3 spawn in at the same time though which is also odd, most were single and a few doubles.

I just ran into this issue again. I stopped at an US and decided to add two hydrogen thrusters to my ship. As soon as I started welding the US vanished along with another one that was 9km away.

I have not run into this issue playing for hours without adding any blocks to grids. Now that the issue happened when I was adding to my ship, I'd have to say it is not a coincidence.
