VSYNC locks game at 60 instead to 240 fps on a 240hz monitor + more

My specs:

  • Windows 10
  • RTX 3080ti
  • i7 14700k
  • RAM 16gb 4100mhz
  • 240hz monitor

  • Latest GPU drivers (581.80)
  • Yes, monitor is running at 240hz
  • Tried running lowest vs highest settings = no improvement in smoothness, though the fps does increase on the lowest settings, but does not go past 200fps
  • VRR option (according to few posts) is not showing up at all
  • Running 200fps in outer space
  • No external or background process running that could hog CPU cycles or increase latency

Patch: v2.0.2.21

There must be an issue with how VSYNC works, when it is enabled > game locks to 60 fps.

With VSYNC disabled the frame rate doesn't go past 200, which I believe would be down to the engine limiter, or limitations.

Now, I am not sure whether that is a problem with the camera/mouse movement as the game responsiveness, fluidity and/or smoothness does not feel any different regardless whether it is running at 60 or 200fps.

Thoughts?

same here, it seems like its doing vsync the old fashion way and dropping the fps to 60. i cant remember but i think i heard that the simulation speed is locked at 60fps as well so that may be why the mouse moves weird
