Broken Ship

I used the destruction tool to split my ship in half as seen in photo 1 however eventhough it had no connection to the rear half, the ship continued to fly as 1 entity. I was very amused by this though i don't think that is the intended result

Grids should now correctly split into separate Grids after cutting them in half. Could you please confirm that is the case for you?
