Inconsistent input blocking after opening Blocks menu

After opening Blocks with G we can press number keys, which immediately get entered into Search field while also changing selected blocks in toolbar. Deselecting search bar with mouse and selecting it again locks toolbar selection changes with number keys.
It makes sense we can change toolbars with ctrl+number, but we shouldn't be able to change block selection while writing in search field.
