PS5 New Game stuck on Sandbox option. L1/R1 not working

I have installed Space Engineers on PS5 and everytime I start a New Game 'Sandbox' option is highlighted. L1/R1 buttons are supposed to cycle through the options but the dont work.
Only L2/R2 buttons work to cycle through the sandbox options.
I have tried deleting save data, cleared cache, deleted and reinstalled game. Tried toggling experimental mode on /off.
Nothing Works
I have the same bug Access denied
