Console UI Suggestion
Hello support team, devs, and fellow engineers! Allow me to first thank you for taking the time to read this topic, and for creating, maintaining, and realizing this wonderful game and community.
I have been enjoying SE on PlayStation, and would like to request a small change to the UI of menus and when in control seats!
Firstly, for inventory management purposes; switching items between specific containers can be a little difficult on console when you want to move components/resources to specific containers. With M+K it is as simple as dragging and dropping in most cases. I would like an ability to tap X to pick up and hold an item in either a cursor mode or using the D-pad to move the item to a specific inventory, and using the R1 or L1 + □ to open the split stack UI.
As for the control seat UI; I have created myself an operational crane on my base, and have been using Turret Controllers to operate it. Although, without the use or even the ability to obtain scripts for machinery on Console, i Find myself fumbling through my toolbar shortcuts. I noticed that PC has a numeric indicator of which toolbar the player is using, and would like to see if the console UI could have a similar Toolbar counter to tell you which page you're on, as most pages for my crane are identical and it can be tricky to switch between them.
That aside, for a couple of the turret controllers, I dont have an assigned camera for them, so my POV stays in the control seat. However, I can only adjust the camera with L1 + R1 + LS up or down, and cannot look left or right. I had to put my control seat on a rotor to be able to look left and right while controlling my crane where the on-crane camera doesnt function. I am unsure if it is a bug or intentional, but i would like the ability to freely turn my head left and right from the control seat while actively using a turret controller, if possible.
It can be a little tricky to place cameras on the side of piston arms, is it possible to have a camera block that is in an elbow position so that an engineer doesn't have to place a camera that is half hanging off of a large grid block? Or perhaps allowing cameras to look around with the right stick while the custom turret controller is controlled by the left stick?
All that aside, the crane functions! Which is amazing! I hope bringing my feedback here can help myself and other engineers when attempting their own unique ideas, and bring a little extra quality of life to an already great game.
